MAINTAINING & UPDATING YOUR SITE

Your Squarespace site doesn’t require any ongoing maintenance to keep it up and running, but the following tips should help you increase the traffic to your site and your search ranking.

Ensure your contact information is up to date
Share the link to your site and pages on your site regularly
Update the content as often as you can, ideally through a blog or news page
When adding new images to the site they should be under 500kb, ideally under 250kb.
Rename your images before uploading them to include your business name and a description of the image, eg “your-business-name-image-description”

PRIVACY POLICY

You will require a privacy policy and unfortunately I can't generate one for you, as I'm not able to give legal advice, but I can share with you some resources.

I have used both Simply Docs and Iubenda. Both work well and are affordable. I've actually just started using Iubenda on my Kirsty M Design page and like it because it's hosted on their servers and is updated constantly, so it's not something you have to worry about updating yourself. It also has a very easy to use generator.

There are also acceptable free privacy policies available to download, SEQ Legal is a UK based option.

Squarespace has an in-built cookies pop-up and this will be activated when your site goes live and will include a link to the privacy policy page. You can paste your new privacy policy into the Policies page on your site.
